A writer to watch
A Pushcart prize nominee and award-winning short story writer, Désirée revels in the exploration of issues of injustice and inequity across all genres. A frequent contributor to the LA Review of Books, you can also find her writing in CrimeReads, Terrain, [PANK] and the Kenyon Review.
A proud Macondista, she’s attended Community of Writers, as well as the Sewannee Writers’ Conference as a Tennessee Williams Scholar.
Deeply committed to RE presenting her demographic, she loves encouraging the voices of the underrepresented, and is proud to be a board member of Women Who Submit as well as grateful for the supportive, collaborative community that flourishes there.
She loves living in the San Gabriel foothills. Inspired by her neighbor’s crowing rooster, you can find her short story “Magda’s Hen” in Alta here.
