A writer to watch

A Pushcart prize nominee and award-winning short story writer, Désirée revels in the exploration of contemporary issues of injustice and inequity across all genres. A frequent contributor to the LA Review of Books, you can also find her writing in CrimeRead, Terrain, [PANK] and the Kenyon Review.

An LA native, as a young woman she attended a number of universities, from Cal State Fullerton to the Sorbonne, before graduating from UC Irvine. A polyglot, she is a fluent French and Spanish speaker, but occasionally stumbles over her husband’s British usages.

She loves living in the San Gabriel foothills. She can currently be found reading, writing or teaching her way out of the pandemic.
